Saint Martin has dedicated marine reserves that cover much of the sea surrounding the island and smaller nearby islands, particularly on the French side. The protected areas, highlighted in pink below, cover Creole Rock, Ilet Pinel/Green Caye, Tintamarre and nearby areas. Protected marine reserves are crucial to the diversity and health of the reefs in Saint Martin.

While not all the dive sites we visit are part of protected marine reserves, we treat all dive sites as if they are. We never anchor on reefs, touch or take sea life, dump trash in the water or allow dangling equipment to damage reefs. We see ourselves and our guests as part of a community working together to ensure that the underwater environment is healthy now and in the years to come.
